West Ham Turn To Former Arsenal Ace Edu To Rescue Their Season

West Ham are hoping to sign former Arsenal midfielder Eduardo Gaspar (Edu), before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow night.

Edu, 32, has been a free agent since the summer, after being released from his homeland outfit Corinthians, and West Ham owners David Sullivan and David Gold have identified the Brazilian as a reasonable short-term signing in order to help save the club from relegation to the Championship this season.

The Hammers are also hoping to land, as a loan signing, Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, who has recently fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Edu won two Premier League titles and two FA Cups during his time at Arsenal, before parting ways with the London outfit and moving to Valencia in 2005.
