Louis van Gaal is proud of his Bayern players after defeating Werder Bremen on Saturday.
Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal believes that his team were worthy winners against Werder Bremen in their Bundesliga encounter on Saturday.

The German champions continued their resurgence in the new year as they came from behind to register a 3-1 victory, making Van Gaal a proud coach.

“Bremen were the better team in the first 20 minutes, but we switched things around tactically and improved," explained the Dutchman after the match, as quoted by Bayern's official website.

"We went a goal down at the start of the second half, but my team upped the pressure and were significantly more aggressive. At the end of the day, it was a deserved win. I’m very proud of my team.“

Defender Philipp Lahm echoed Van Gaal's words and enthused: “I think it was obvious to everyone we were determined to win and were never going to be satisfied with a draw. We played very good football at times, we pulled Bremen out of position and we created clear-cut chances.

"Taking the 90 minutes as a whole, we deserved to win. Our aim is second place, but it’s easier said than done, so we have to keep winning. But if we play like we did today, we’ll do just that.“
