Former Inter star Luis Figo feels that coach Leonardo has the ability to ensure that the team clinches silverware this season.

The Portuguese great, who currently holds a directorial position at the Giuseppe Meazza, has been discussing the possibility of the Brazilian leading the side to glory either domestically or in Europe in the current campaign.

The former Milan boss replaced Rafa Benitez at the turn of the year and has overseen a change in fortunes, with the Nerazzurri’s recent run of wins firing them back into title contention.

Speaking to fcinternews.it, Figo offered his opinion of Leonardo, as well as bemoaning playmaker Wesley Sneijder’s Ballon d’Or omission.

He stated: “We have complete confidence in Leonardo, and I think he will win something for us.

“I’m a big fan of [Lionel] Messi, but Sneijder deserved a least a podium place for what he did with Inter and the Netherlands.”
