Mahamadou Diarra is set to join Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.
Real Madrid have revealed that midfielder Mahamadou Diarra will join French Ligue 1 side Monaco after he undergoes his medical.

Los Blancos made the announcement on their official website on Thursday evening but didn't give any details about the terms and conditions of the deal.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Monaco FC have reached a deal for the transfer of Mahamadou Diarra," read the statement.

"It is contingent upon the player passing a medical as well as the contract signed with his new club."

Diarra, 29, joined Madrid from Olympique Lyonnais in 2006 and won two Primera Division titles in 2007 and 2008.

This season, though, the Mali international has fallen down the pecking order and has not started a single game in La Liga under coach Jose Mourinho.

Monaco are struggling for survival in the French top flight and are second from bottom in the division.
