Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola takes time to commend the level of his team's performances after 3-0 defeat of Racing.
Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has praised the high standard of his team’s performances after they easily saw off Racing at the Camp Nou.

Goals from Pedro, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta ensured a comfortable win for the Blaugrana, and sent them seven points clear of Real Madrid in the Primera Division table.

Addressing the media afterwards, the tactician was generous in his adulation of the level his team have reached in recent outings.

He remarked: “I would like to give much value to what this team is making. There is much effort behind routine wins such as this, and playing in two competitions at once is very hard, but despite everything the team is always up, and ready to generate a lot of chances.

“Today for example, we dominated Racing with no problems. Tonight was a dangerous game. After matches as tough as San Mames or in Villamarin, we need people in the squad to give us a hand, because we are one step away from the final.”

Guardiola also leapt to the defence of striker Bojan, who came on near the end but once again failed to find the target.

He added: “He is due to rebel and to become strong, be has given us a lot over the years and he will continue, because he has the talent to play here.”
