FIFA & Russia Sign World Cup 2018 Declaration Of Appointment

Sepp Blatter predicts Russians will be excellent hosts.
FIFA, along with Russia’s local organising committee and the football union of Russia, signed a declaration of appointment on Sunday, which confirms Russia as the hosts of the 2018 World Cup.
The ceremony, which was held in Saint-Petersburg, included FIFA president Sepp Blatter, Russia’s sport minister Vitaly Mutko and the chairman of Russia’s local organising committee Alexei Sorokin.
Blatter, Mutko and Sorokin signed the declaration along with the football union of Russia’s president, Sergei Fursenko and first-vice-president, Nikita Simonyan.
“Russia will do an excellent job of organising the World Cup,” said Blatter.
“We share the vision and mission that football is more than just a game.
“Russia boasts a great football tradition, and the 2018 World Cup will act as a catalyst for social advancement, opening up new territories for the game and winning over new hearts and minds.”
Russia’s prime minister, Vladimir Putin, ensured the country will not falter in their preparations for the tournament.
“You can take my word for it that the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be up to the highest standards,” said Putin.
“New, modern stadiums and facilities will be build on time and to perfection.”
Russia’s sports minister, Mutko, was pleased after signing the declaration and promised Russia will live up to its hype.
“We are delighted by the trust that FIFA puts into our capabilities and into the bold promise we have given with our bid,” said Mutko.
“I can assure FIFA and the football world that we are fully committed to deliver and to excel beyond all requirements.”
