Ruud Van Nistelrooy Will Not Extend Hamburg Contract - Agent Rodger Linse

The agent of Ruud van Nistelrooy has ruled out the possibility of his client extending his contract at Hamburg.
After Hamburg's refusal to allow Ruud van Nistelrooy to leave for Real Madrid, the player's agent has eliminated the possibility of a contract extension with the German club.

"A contract extension with Hamburg can now be ruled out. This is not possible anymore," Rodger Linse told Hamburger Morgenpost.

The Dutch striker's contract at Hamburg is set to expire in the summer. He has scored six goals for the Rothosen this season, and has been labelled as a key figured for Armin Veh's side.

"[Van Nistelrooy] cannot understand [why HSV blocked a transfer to Madrid] and he has got a problem with it. It is very, very painful," Linse added.

"It is sad because Hamburg have no idea what they are doing to Ruud with this decision."

Van Nistelrooy joined Hamburg a year ago after being deemed surplus to requirements at Madrid. The injury-plagued veteran had scored 46 goals in 68 matches, but was behind Gonzalo Higuain, Karim Benzema and Raul in the pecking order. However, with the Argentine out with a long-term injury, Raul having departed for Schalke and Benzema misfiring, Van Nistelrooy was Madrid's first choice replacement. They have since turned their attention elsewhere.
