Sevilla Keeper Javi Varas: No One Expects Us To Reach Copa Del Rey Final

Sevilla goalkeeper Javi Varas says team will be motivated by fact that no one expects them to get past Real Madrid in Copa del Rey.
Sevilla goalkeeper Javi Varas has stated that his team are being shown a lack of respect by those assuming that Real Madrid will face Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey later in the season.

Los Blancos must first negotiate the second leg of their semi-final against Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu this evening, but hold a 1-0 advantage from the first match last week.

With Barca already five goals to the good in the other last-four tie with Almeria, many commentators are already preparing for the first meeting of Spain’s big two in the cup final for over 20 years.

But Varas believes that the players will use the fact that they have been discounted as motivation to win, telling COPE Esports: “No one has us in mind, and it is a lack of respect that hurts us and motivates us.

“The pressure is on them. Despite being the champions, we are not being considered. So we have to go out and show it on Wednesday. It is difficult, but not impossible. We have shown that we can win at the Bernabeu before. If we score first, their fans will get nervous."
