Both club and agent assure that Franco Zuculini has agreed to join Racing Club on loan and cut his link with Genoa.
Argentine starlet Franco Zuculini is just one step away from finalising a loan move to first club Racing Club, after agreeing in principle to join the Buenos Aires institution.

The 20-year-old's agent Damian Decoud affirmed on Thursday that his client had agreed to cut his wages by over 50% in order to make the move a possibility, and that now all that remained was to cut his current temporary link with Genoa; the player's contract is currently held by Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

"We have a verbal agreement on everything, now we just need to sort out the paperwork. We are very happy," La Academia president Rodolfo Molina told Ole, while Decoud was equally confident of sealing the deal.

"Franco now needs to rescind his link with Genoa, something that he will do in the next few hours. Then he could travel to Argentina, he was very keen to play in Racing again and that's why he gave up so much money."

There was further good news for Racing as it emerged Porto midfielder Mariano Gonzalez could join 'Zucu' in rejoining his former club. The player's agent affirmed that he would also be prepared to take a pay cut to play in Argentina, while the club have some $1.2 million in the kitty to invest in new players for 2011.
