Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender has resumed squad training.
Ambitious Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen have received some positive news on the injury front in the build-up tow the league match away to Nuernberg on Saturday afternoon.

The Werkself have confirmed on their official website that promising midfielder Lars Bender has resumed squad training again on Tuesday and is widely expected to be included in the match squad for this weekend's game.

Bender sustained a patella tendon injury in the home loss against Borussia Dortmund about two weeks ago and has since been sidelined due to the knock.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been an integral part of Leverkusen's first team in the 2010-11 campaign. He has made 15 league appearances so far this term, scoring once in the process.

Leverkusen currently sit second in the Bundesliga table with 39 points from 20 games, trailing table toppers Borussia Dortmund by 11 points.
