Estudiantes goalkeeper Agustin Orion was carjacked at gunpoint on Wednesday morning, on his way to training with the Pincha.
Estudiantes' first-choice goalkeeper Agustin Orion was left badly shaken on Wednesday, after being carjacked at gunpoint on the way to a training session with the Apertura champions.

Ole reports that the 29-year-old, regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Argentina, was driving through the Buenos Aires district of Merlo when he was intercepted by armed thieves, who forced him out of his car by pointing a gun at his chest. Orion handed over the vehicle and was left stranded in the middle of the motorway, and subsequently went straight to a local police station to make an official complaint.

"They stuck the gun in my chest, it was an awful situation. But in the end I was lucky because [the thieves] reacted calmly," the keeper told television news channels shortly after visiting the police station.

"I tried to stop them getting in the car with us. My father was more nervous because he couldn't take his seatbelt off. I thought about giving them everything I had, because there was nothing else I could do."

Police are now investigating the crime, and have already located the vehicle in the barrio of Liniers. At the time of writing there are no leads regarding the perpetrators.
