Wolfsburg Coach Steve McClaren Disappointed With Loss To Hannover
Posted by admin on Saturday, 5 February 2011
Wolfsburg were architects of their own demise against Hannover, according to Steve McClaren.
Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren was frustrated that his team blew a clear chance to earn at least a point against Hannover today.
"We have lost the game by ourselves, so I am disappointed with this result," he said according to Kicker.
A goalkeeping error from Diego Benaglio allowed Sergio Pinto to open the scoring early with a long-ranged effort. Late in the game, Diego won a penalty, but struck his spot kick off the crossbar.
On the other hand, McClaren was pleased with the performance of many of his team's new signings, among whom Tuncay Sanli, Jan Polak, Dieumerci Mbokani and Patrick Helmes featured.
"Our new players have integrated quite well. We have more competition in our squad, and I already have ideas for a new system."
