Koeln captain Lukas Podolski believes that his side are now showing what they are capable of but warned they are not out of the woods yet.
FC Koeln captain Lukas Podolski believes that his side are finally starting to realise their potential as they demolished Mainz in a convincing 4-1 victory.
"In the last few home games we have been performed convincingly. You can see what is possible when we give it our all. Football is now fun in Koeln. We can also see that we are capable of playing good football when we attack," he told Eurosport after the game.
"We took our goals well and created other good chanes. What we have shown today and in recent weeks must be how we continue to play. We are not yet where we want to be and with just one defeat, we are back in trouble."
"We will now have one or two days off to celebrate and then thereafter we will concentrate on the difficult tasks ahead of us."
Die Geissbocke's win was their fourth consecutive victory in the Rhein Energie Stadion, where they are unbeaten since November. They climb to thirteenth spot above Kaiserslautern and Wolfsburg, with 25 points. Next weekend they travel to Sinsheim to face Hoffenheim.
