Ilkay Guendogan will miss three weeks due to a metatarsal fracture.
Nuernberg received some disturbing news on Thursday when it was revealed that the Bavarians will be without Ilkay Guendogan for the next three weeks after the midfielder sustained a hairline metatarsal fracture.
The 20-year old has been out of action in recent weeks due to severe bruising of the metatarsal, and upon further investigation it was revealed that the damage was worse than initially reported.
"We were aware [of the fracture] after the initial investigation, but we were hoping that it would heal a bit faster," FCN manager Martin Bader said according to Spox.
Guendogan is expected to miss Saturday's match against Bayer Leverkusen, as well as upcoming fixtures with Stuttgart and Frankfurt. The youngster has been in high demand as of late, with Manchester United and Hamburg allegedly interested in obtaining his services.
