Patrice Evra To Be Offered New Contract By Manchester United
Posted by admin on Friday, 4 February 2011
Manchester United are reportedly preparing to offer left-back Patrice Evra a new deal to deter rumoured interest from Real Madrid and Inter.
The defender has a year-and-a-half left to run on his £70,000-a-week contract and United have fears one of the European giants will make a move for the player.
The Sun are claiming United have offered the 29-year-old terms until 2014 in a bid to keep him for the remainder of his career.
There are also claims that Sir Alex Ferguson is getting increasingly fed up with rumours linking the player to other clubs and would like to put an end to the speculation with the deal.
The Frenchman, who has also played for Nice and AS Monaco, signed for United in the summer of 2006 for a reported fee of £5.5 million and has spent the last four-and-a-half years at the club.
He has made over 150 appearances for the Red Devils during his time at Old Trafford.
