Besiktas Lose Cenk Gonen And Ersan Gulum To Injuries

Besiktas will have to make do without the services of Cenk Gonen and Ersan Gulum for a while.
Turkish powerhouse Besiktas have received some disturbing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of their Turkish Cup win against Trabzonspor on January 26.
Head coach Bernd Schuster will have to make do without the services of first choice shot stopper Cenk Gonen and defender Ersan Gulum for a while after the duo sustained injuries against Trabzon that will keep them sidelined for several months.
The 22-year-old Gonen broke the little finger of his left hand during the game. Even though he managed to play through the pain barrier until the final whistle, Gonen will now be sidelined for up to eight weeks due to the knock.
Australian defender Gulum picked up a knee injury in the dying minutes of the game and visited a hospital earlier this week to clarify the extent of his knee problem.
According to a report on uefa.com, the centre-back has now undergone a cruciate ligament operation in Australia. Gulum will consequently be unavailable for the rest of the season.
Besiktas currently sit fifth in the Super Lig with 31 points from 19 games. They lock horns with Dynamo Kiev in the first knockout round of the Europa League.
