John O'Shea also backs hitman to return to his goal scoring best.
Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs believes that Wayne Rooney is bound to start scoring goals soon.
The forward has had a difficult season as he was at the centre of a media storm concerning his personal life, while form deserted him on the pitch.
With injury and a new contract - under controversial circumstances - having also come to pass, the 25-year old has scored only once from open play.
"As a goalscorer you want to be getting goals but his overall play has been good - his cross for my goal against Birmingham was brilliant," Giggs said, according to The Sun.
"As long as the team is doing well, that's the main thing. And we know that sooner or later Wayne will start scoring."
Rooney's team-mate John O'Shea added: "Wayne will soon be back on the goal trail because of his quality. I'm sure the chances like the one he missed towards the back post against Birmingham will be flying in in no time."
