Posted by admin on Sunday, 23 January 2011
Aston Villa defender Curtis Davies is reportedly linked to a transfer to Birmingham City.
Gerard Houllier is looking to save some money and is willing to get Davies’ £40,000-a-week wages off Villa’s bills, according to The Mirror.
The 25-year-old has already been told that he will not be going back to Villa Park when the loan terminates.
The centre-back admitted he is likely to leave Villa Park on his Twitter page on Saturday: “I don’t know where I will be playing at the end of this window, but most likely not at Villa.”
Birmingham’s manager Alex McLeish is monitoring Davies’ potential transfer as he is missing a defender after Scott Dann had to undergo surgery on a serious hamstring injuryand is out for the rest of the season.
