Marseille join Lazio in race for Sampdoria's Ziegler.
Sampdoria winger Reto Ziegler is being courted by French side Olympique de Marseille, who plan to get to him before Lazio.

Reports last week claimed the Swiss had rejected new terms with Sampdoria to agree a move to Lazio in June when his deal at Marassi expires.

But L'Equipe claims Lazio could miss out as French club Marseille are on the horizon.

The Ligue 1 side have been monitoring Ziegler, who has decided he will leave Genoa.

But it is said the Sampdoria left-back could prefer a Serie A stay to join the Aquile if they qualify for the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain star Nene is confident that the Parisiens can go all the way this term.
Paris Saint-Germain star Nene is confident that the Ligue 1 side can go all the way in both the Europa League and Ligue 1 in the 2010-11 season.

"I hope that this is the season where it all comes good for PSG. I hope the team can keep it up in every competition and go as far as they can, all the way to finals in Europe and France if possible," said Nene to fifa.com.

"And we’ve got the league too. We’re in terrific form and we can’t afford to ease off, which can happen sometimes. Luckily for us the coach works hard on the psychological side of things and he’s let us know that we’ve won nothing yet.

"We just need to build on what we’ve done so far by reaching the Champions League, signing some big name players and going all out to win competitions. It’s not enough just to take part.

"The team’s on the right track, we’ve got good players and the standard here is very high. We need to build on what we’ve done and focus on reaching the Champions League. That’s the competition we all dream about playing in."

Robin Leproux Admits PSG's Main Focus Is Not To Be Ligue 1 Champions

Paris Saint-Germain president Robin Leproux says many may believe it is his side aim to win the Ligue 1, but it is not.
Paris Saint-Germain president Robin Leproux has admitted there is still a long way to go until his side can be considered genuine contenders for the Ligue 1 title.

The French capital club are currently in second position, five points behind league leaders Lille, but Leproux says the side are aiming to have a strong season rather than win the title.

"You may think that winning the league title is our goal, but it is not," the president told L'Equipe TV.

"If at the end of the season we are close, we will do everything to get the title because it is missed and needed in Paris. But there are a lot of ifs because we can claim it."

The last time Les Rouge-et-Blau won the league was in 1994.
