Spurs have captured the young 18-year-old forward following his exit from the Spanish champions, and the north London side believe he shows real potential to play at the top level.
Tottenham have officially announced the signing of Cristian Ceballos, formerly of Barcelona.

The 18-year-old hast spent the last seven years with the Spanish giants at youth level, but Spurs were rumoured to be set to sign the teenager earlier this year.

Ceballos, predominantly an attacking midfielder who can also play up front, had previously spent time training with the north London club.

Spurs technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood was impressed with the youngster during his earlier time with Tottenham.

"Cristian trained hard and showed some real quality when he originally spent time here towards the end of last season and was even involved in some of the first team training," he told the club's official website.

"There was other interest in him too. He needs to be patient and if he can fulfil his potential we believe he can play at the top level."

Ceballos is Tottenham's second signing of the summer, after the free transfer capture of former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
