Blackburn Rovers Agree Fee With Schalke For Midfielder Jermaine Jones

Jermaine Jones appears to be on his way out of Bundesliga side Schalke as Blackburn have agreed a fee for the USA international, according to Sky Sports News.

Blackburn are looking to add some fresh blood to their ranks in the January transfer window and recently appointed manager Steve Kean supposedly sees 29-year-old Jones as the perfect signing.

Jones joined Schalke from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2007 and quickly became an important first team member at the club. However, he has lost his spot in the starting XI this term and was even demoted to the reserves.

Therefore, Jones is seemingly desperate to leave the club in the January transfer window and although the midfielder's current contract runs until the summer of 2014, Schalke are reportedly ready to part company with the player if a good offer comes in.

Clubs such as Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg are also believed to be interested in signing the former Frankfurt star.

Franz Beckenbauer hits out at Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for his haughty attitude and disrespect towards others.
Bayern Munich's honorary president Franz Beckenbauer has blasted Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for his confrontational attitude.

"He's rude and with no education. The fact that he wears cashmere sweaters doesn't mean he belongs like a gentleman," he said, according to Goal.com Spain.

Beckenbauer also claimed that the former Inter tactician didn't deserve to win the FIFA Coach of the Year award despite claiming the treble with the Italian club.

"Captains and coaches from all over the world considered that Mourinho got the best results with less resources than their rivals, but he has been rude and with no education in his behaviour to achieve his objectives."

The German legend also took a dig at Mourinho regarding the 5-0 humiliation that Madrid suffered at Camp Nou to Barcelona in the Clasico earlier this season.

"The same coach has suffered last autumn the worst humiliation losing 5-0 at Camp Nou, after a festival of passes and fantasy from Pep Guardiola's Barcelona. There the offensive mentality has prevailed."

Hamburg Striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy Demands Real Madrid Return

Hamburg's Ruud van Nistelrooy has reportedly demanded a return to Real Madrid after hearing of their interest.
Hamburg striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has reportedly demanded the club let him return to Real Madrid after hearing los Blancos were interested in his services to replace long-term injury absentee Gonzalo Higuain, according to Kicker.

Earlier in the day Madrid sporting director Jorge Valdano had confirmed the club are seeking a striker during the winter transfer window.

Upon hearing of the Spaniards' desire to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabeu on a six-month loan deal, but also the German outfit's unwillingness to let him go, reports emerged that the Dutchman stormed out of the players' hotel and said, "If you don't let me go back to Madrid, I'll never turn out for Hamburg again."

Team spokesman Joern Wolf refused to comment on whether the 34-year-old had issued an ultimatum to the club.

"Van Nistelrooy is in the team hotel. Coach Armin Veh will also put him in the team for the game in Gelsenkirchen [against Schalke] tomorrow," he revealed.

Van Nistelrooy spent four oft-injured seasons with the nine-time Champions League winners with an impressive scoring record of 64 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions before moving to the Bundesliga in 2010.

The former Manchester United star would not be cup-tied for European competition this season unlike many of the other big names linked with a move to Real Madrid at the moment.

"We played the football we showed in the first-half of the season and we were deserved winners," he told Sky after the final whistle.

"It was already clear that today was a big match in terms of our season but it will still be difficult enough for us."

Die Borussen's victory moves them a seemingly insurmountable thirteen points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, ahead of Mainz and Leverkusen.
